Presented by the U.S.A Southern California Branch of Woo Bong Lee Mae-Bang's Traditional Dance Conservation Association, 'Tribute Performance to the Late Woo Bong Lee Mae Bang' will be held on Friday, June 3rd 7:30pm at the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles 3rd Fl., Ari Hall.
This performance is presented as a part of the Korean Cultural Center’s 3rd season of the 2016 ARI PROJECT: performing arts series, featuring a rich program of various performing arts programs including Korean traditional music to world music, as well as contemporary dance and theater.

About Woobong Lee Mae Bang
Lee Mae Bang, traditional Korean dance master, born in 1926 in Mokpo, South Jeolla Province, was the only remaining artist who had mastered "seungmoo" (Buddhist dance) and "salpuri" (exorcism dance), which are designated Important Intangible Cultural Heritages No. 27 and No. 97. Lee danced at a variety of international events including the Barcelona Olympics opening ceremony in 1992 and the Avignon Festival in France in 1998. He received several medals including the Officier dans l'Ordre des Arts et Lettres offered by the French government in 1998 and the Order of Merit given by the Korean National Assembly in 2011. He died in 2015 at the age of 88.
