Events at KCCs abroad

Celebrating Chuseok, Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles, presented a Korean Cooking Contest in San Diego. Six American chefs challenged to make one of the six well-known Korean dishes - bibimbap, ttukboki, kimchi, dakgalbi, japchae, and bulgogi - in front of a panel of judges. Around 150 people gathered at the San Diego Wine & Culinary Center to enjoy the competetion. Korean food and wine tasting as well as live traditional Korean music and dance performance were also introduced.

 

First prize winner was Lance Roll (executive chef of "The Flavor Chef"), who made a fusion Kimchi salad. Second prize went to Rene Fernandez (celebrity chef)'s royal palace ttukboki and the third prize winner was Maria Sparks (owner of "Cork and Platter") who made a dakgalbi with  curry powder.
