The National Dance Company of Korea stages “The Banquet,” which presents Korean dance from past to present, ranging from the traditional royal court dances through to shamanic ritual dances and folk dances.
The dancers will perform a collection of traditional dances, including court dances for royal rituals, barachum Buddhist dances (바라춤), and the janggu drum dance, a kind of folk dance. The choreography depicts the changes of the seasons from spring to summer, fall, and then to winter.
