President Moon Jae-in left Cheong Wa Dae for Panmunjeom to attend the historic 2018 Inter-Korean Summit on April 27.

President Moon left the presidential residence at 8 a.m. amid cheers from his staff waving the Unified Korea flag and azure balloons.

As the crowd held up signs that said, “Peace, A New Start! We love you!” President Moon got into his car and headed for Panmunjeom to kick off the historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson Kim Eui-kyeom, meanwhile, outlined in a press briefing at the summit's Main Press Center the detailed itinerary for the summit, including the first encounter between the two leaders, the taking of commemorative photos and an official ceremony that would feature a South Korean military honor guard.
