South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un have agreed to hold a third inter-Korean summit in Pyeongyang in September. This will mark the third meeting of its kind this year, following their face-to-face meetings on April 27 and May 26.

The agreement between the two Koreas was made during the fourth high-level talks on the northern side of Panmunjeom, the town that lies across the line that separates the two Koreas.

In a joint press release, the two sides agreed to “review the progress of implementing the Panmunjeom Declaration, and discuss further methods to fulfill the Declaration in a sincere manner.” Furthermore, the South and the North agreed to "hold the scheduled Inter-Korean Summit by September in Pyeongyang.”

South Korea's delegation was led by Minister of Unification Cho Myoung-gyon, while his North Korean counterpart was Ri Son-gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country.
