From 8:00 to 8:10 this morning, Cheong Wa Dae staff members saw President Moon Jae-in off when he was leaving for Panmunjeom to attend the Inter-Korean Summit.

From about 8 am, staff members of Cheong Wa Dae lined up on both sides of the road from Nokjiwon garden to the main entrance of the presidential compound, stretching about 100m. They were holding the Korean Unification Flag and pickets with phrases wishing for peace and prosperity. Some of them were holding sky-blue balloons. They shouted, “Peace, A New Start,” and “Mr. President, we love you.”

The staff cheered when the presidential vehicle appeared. Upon noticing them, President Moon stopped the motorcade and got off to greet them. He shook hands with several members of the staff and walked down about ten meters as his people shouted welcoming phrases to him.

The President went back to the vehicle and left the main premises of Cheong Wa Dae, leaving behind the staff still shouting and clapping for him.
