Results of High-level Inter-Korean Talks

South and North Korea held high-level inter-Korean talks to successfully prepare for the inter-Korean summit in Pyeongyang in accordance with the historic Panmunjeom Declaration. The two sides reached the following agreement:

The 2018 Inter-Korean Summit Pyeongyang will be held September 18-20 for three days and two nights. President Moon Jae-in and his delegation will visit Pyeongyang by direct flight over the West Sea.

A South Korean advance team to prepare for the Summit in Pyeongyang will depart on September 16 over an overland route.

The two sides agreed to broadcast live the first meeting of the two leaders and major summit events on the itinerary of the visit to Pyeongyang. The North will provide convenience necessary for news coverage and live broadcasts by the South.

This agreement was signed by the South’s chief delegate Kim Sang-gyun and the North’s head of delegation Kim Chang Son.

Today’s talks proceeded from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm without a break.
