South Korea and Brazil have signed a pact to strengthen bilateral military cooperation, the Defense Ministry said Saturday (April 1).
The pact is aimed at helping the two countries enhance cooperation in the defense industry and military technologies, which is expected to open the way for South Korea to engage in export negotiations with Brazil to sell its arms to the South American country, the ministry said.
The two countries also agreed on the dispatch of military attaches to the Brazilian Embassy in Seoul from Brazil at an earlier date.
South Korea has military cooperation pacts with 11 countries, including the United States.
