"Lady Vengeance" grabs 3 awards at Venice
 Date: September 12, 2005
¡°Sympathy for Lady Vengeance,¡± the last statement of the revenge trilogy by director Park Chan-wook, won three awards at the 62nd Venice Film Festival, which ended Saturday (Sept. 10).

Although the film attracted media attention and garnered favorable reviews, the film failed to receive awards in competition sections. All of awards were from non-competition sections, namely Cinema of The Future, the Young Lion Award and the Best Innovated Film Award.

Winners of the Young Lion Award are chosen by 22 students, aged 18-22, studying film in Italy. Young Europeans in the Italian film industry select winners for the Best Innovated Film Award, while Cinema of The Future winners are selected by an Italian student association of short film.

Park won the Jury Grand Prix for ¡°Old Boy,¡± the second installment of the revenge trilogy, at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.
