 2011 Daegu IAAF World Championships in Athletics
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) on March 27, 2007, selected the Korean city Daegu as host of the 2011 World Championships. Daegu will be the third Asian city to host the biennial championships after Japan's Tokyo in 1991 and Osaka this year.

  • Duration: August-September 2011 (nine days)
  • Scale: Approx. 7,000 participants from 212 countries and regions - Athletes 2,000; Officials 1,500; Media 3,500
  • Program: 46 disciplines (24 male and 22 female)
  • Venue: Daegu World Cup Stadium, Warm-up Stadium, Citizen's Stadium, etc.
