Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon attended the 21st Women Entrepreneurs Day ceremony on Nov. 3, and stressed the administration's willingness to support female entrepreneurs and the growth of their businesses.

The prime minister announced that the new administration had exceeded the goal of filling 30 percent of its cabinet positions with women, with 32 percent being female. That said, the prime minister promised that the government would continue to support women so that they may reach their full potential.

"We plan to increase funding for women-run venture capital pursuits, as well as R&D, so that more opportunities become available for women in tech and venture capital. We are also working to revise several policies so that working women are less burdened by family responsibilities," he said.

Stating that social scientists had declared "feminization" as one of the major characteristics of society in the future, the prime minister asked that successful female business leaders help to foster the next generation female entrepreneurs, and to create more positions for women.
