A Christmas market opened on Dec. 21 at Yeonsei-ro in Seoul's Sinchon area offers an array of goods made by small-scale entrepreneurs and small to mid-size businesses.

Dubbed "Let's Buy and Create Value Together at the Nine-day Christmas Market 2019," the event seeks to help both small-scale entrepreneurs struggling to promote their products and consumers looking for gifts. About 1,400 businesses are participating in this market as part of a bid to introduce cost-effective products to the public.

To promote its message of mutual prosperity and coexistence, the market features well-known content creators who have used some of the goods sold there and who are promoting the items through a platform. Additional events such as performances by K-pop singers Mamamoo and Bada will follow.

"We hope that during the nine-day period including Christmas Day, small-scale entrepreneurs and others can jointly experience the event and materialize the value of co-harmony through consumerism and spend the end of the year meaningfully," a source from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups said.

To run through Dec. 29, the event is open daily from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
