The Hanbok fashion show was part of the 87th Academy Awards and Hollywood Tribute 2015, held on February 20 at the MGN Five Star Cinema in Glendale, California. With figures from politics and business in attendance, as well as movie celebrities, the Hollywood Tribute event allows people from all walks of life to see firsthand art and design from around the world.

During the fashion show, five Korean Hanbok designers -- Kim Mun-kyung, Oh In-kyeong, Jo Yeong-ki, Jo Jin-wu and Jenifer Mok -- showcased a total of 37 garments. The Hanbok designs on display were varied across a wide spectrum, from traditional to modern dresses.

The show was opened by Jenifer Mok with her iconic Hanbok dresses that combine a coat and a skirt. Jo Jin-wu showcased the beauty of traditional style. Jo is the third generation of his family to acquire Hanbok-making skills. Kim Mun-kyung showed the beautiful colors that Hanbok can have through a natural dying process, while Jo Yeong-ki displayed modern styles that are fit for casual social gatherings and parties. Oh In-kyeong showcased beautiful yet practical Hanbok outfits. Not only the styles and colors of the outfits, but the clothes' soft texture, coat strings and delicately needled butterfly patterns attracted attention from local Angelinos.

On February 22, actress Sharon Farrell appeared in Hanbok designed by Jenifer Mok, instead of one of the more common dresses seen at the awards ceremony. Farrell said that she is 75 years old this year and that since this is the last awards ceremony she may possible attend, she wanted to take part in it in Hanbok.
