The official countdown has begun to the World Exposition Milano 2015, with less than ten days to go until the opening. It will be an opportunity for people from around the world to share their wisdom about the future of food resources. The Korean Pavilion, under the banner, "Hansik, Food for the Future: You Are What You Eat," recently produced a guidebook to Korean cuisine so that those unfamiliar with the deliciousness of Korean food can learn more about the nation's food culture much more easily.

Published in English and Italian, the guidebook talks about Korea cuisine, especially about its balance between nutritional value and taste. It also provides explanations about traditional jars or vats, which many people believe store "nature," as well as, among other dishes, kimchi, one of the more prominent dishes that has represented Korean food for many years. It's interesting to read about the stories of royal cuisine that was served in the royal palaces, in contrast to the traditional foods served in homes with long family traditions, and then again with the environmentally-friendly food eaten in temples.

The guidebook also introduces readers to exotic, traditional hands-on programs offered across the nation. It has information about restaurants that serve royal cuisine and about food made from the traditional "Eumsik Dimibang" cookbook, also called, "A Way of Knowing the Taste of Food." The guidebook describes temple stay programs through which one can explore Buddhist life, as well as a variety of street festivals, food festivals and local delicacies. The guidebook is available at the Korean Pavilion during the expo.
