At 10 o'clock in the morning, visitors started to line up to register at the front desk and they were served with varieties of breakfast items. They were mostly from corporations or else Korean people themselves. The objective of this event was to provide some information about the sort of medical treatments that're used in Korea for Malaysian citizens. The venue was Ball room A, Level 1 at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel on Dec. 18, 2015.

The conference was organized by large organizations, such as the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), the Embassy of Korea in Malaysia, Medical Korea Smart Care and the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

The conference started with video clips about health care in Korea and an introduction to a few VIPs, like Yoon Chang Yul, a minister at the Korea Embassy, and Han Dong Woo, the director general at the KHIDI.

Following that, there were an MOU-signing with the CHA Medical Group and the BBS Clinic. The director general of the KHIDI, Han Dong Woo, gave a short talk about the current state of the Korean Global Healthcare and how they want to cooperate with Malaysia. Also, Sun Seung Hoon, CEO at the Daejeon Sun Medical Center, took the chance to introduce his Korean medical center. The Sun Medical Center's specialty is its Cancer Center that covers all sorts of cancer, including breast cancer and colon cancer. The medical center also provides an educational program where they train overseas medical staff from, for example, Mongolia or Russia.

The presenters mostly spoke in Korean and to avoid any miscommunication during the talks, there were direct translations so that we were able to understand the topic of every single speech.

The most interesting topics during the event were antiaging and detox diets, organ transplant surgeries, an explanation as to why Koreans get so much plastic surgery and hair loss treatments.

Suh Eun Kyung, a professor at the CHA Medical Group, talked about antiaging and detox diets. There was even provided a medical checkup, an antiaging test, a stem call bank, some cellulite care and hormone replacement therapy explanations. All of these were recommended for those who want to slim down, who want to prevent aging or who got some swelling after plastic surgery.

On the top of all this, a manager at the Ulsan University Hospital, Kim Yong Eon, gave a short talk on organ transplants. He spoke about bone marrow, liver and kidney transplants.

The conference continued with Kwon Soon Hong from the JK Plastic Surgery Center. His surgery center became popular after it appeared on CNN, ABC Nightline and other media outlets. Also, his clinic was awarded an "Excellence in Medical Tourism" award by the prime minister of Korea. Some of the surgeries his clinic provides cover the jaw, breasts, antiaging and hair transplants. Moreover, his clinic even started a charity called "New Face, New Dream," where a victim of violence in Malaysia, Tan Hui Linh, received treatment for severe burns, stem cell scar therapy and facial plastic surgery.

After the talks by the presenters, we had a lunch break at the Temptation Restaurant and were served with varieties of delicious meals and desserts. During the lunch break, we talked with other visitors and exchanged our thoughts about the Korean medical industry.

Before returning home, I took some pictures with some of the Korean participants in the conference. They were very nice, so I decided to upload and share some photos of me with them.

In my opinion, this event gave a lot of knowledge about the medical industry in Korea, that we cannot get anywhere else. I was so blessed for having this kind of opportunity to attend this great event. I got a lot of information and new experiences that cannot be described by words alone.

Thank you so much for having me once again!
