This year, the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts will showcase an Opera Gala with performances staged by the Seoul Metropolitan Opera, the Seoul Metropolitan Chorus and the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, from May 12 to 13. The Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and the Seoul Arts Center have announced their concert lineup for 2018.

The Sejong Center, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, has a program that includes 56 acts and 517 performances.

Soprano Sumi Jo and tenor Roberto Alagna will come together on the main stage as "Diva & Divo" on May 31. On May 12 and 13, audiences can look forward to an Opera Gala featuring the Seoul Metropolitan Opera, the Seoul Metropolitan Chorus and the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Orchestra. Later in the year, on Nov. 22, pianist Sunwoo Yekwon will perform with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Valery Gergiev.

This year, Dutch dance troupe NDT1 will perform at the Seoul Arts Center from Oct. 19 to 21. (Seoul Arts Center)



The Seoul Arts Center, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, has also put together a special annual program.

On Feb. 13, violinist Sarah Chang and 17 rising classical music stars will perform in the "Seoul Arts Center 30th Anniversary Concert." On Sept. 12, violinist Chung Kyung Wha and pianist Cho Seong-Jin will delight audiences with their "Duo Concert." In the fall, Dutch dance troupe NDT1 will perform from Oct. 19 to 21. At the end of the year, from Dec. 15 to 25, the Korean National Ballet will perform "The Nutcracker," as per tradition.
