Hi, it's Hana of HanaGo.

Today I'm going to answer a question sent in by Hannah Samuel from Nigeria, who said, "Korean food looks delicious. Please teach me how to make any Korean dish."

There's a huge variety of Korean dishes out there, that makes use of all ingredients from the land and sea, that’s made even more flavorful with the likes of soy sauce, doenjang and gochujang.

However, at the very heart of Korean cuisine is a bowl of plain rice, some hearty soup, and a spread of banchan, or side dishes.

Banchan differs by region, and by household, and incorporates ingredients that the season has to offer.

So in this episode, I figured we would bring it back to the basics and learn how to make some tasty banchan. Follow me.
