Leading artists and art scholars from 10 countries will gather at the Grand Hyatt Seoul on Aug. 28 and 29 to talk about current trends in the international art industry as part of the Culture Communication Forum 2018 (CCF).

This year’s forum, co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is being attended by renowned figures, such as: Amy Chu, the founder of publisher Alpha Girl Comics and a story writer for comics like Ant-Man and Deadpool; Eran Katz, an author and a record holder for memory exercises; Olga Sviblova, the director of the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow; French actress and director Noemie Nakai; Singaporean chef Janice Wong; and, Korean food specialist Kim Jungja.

On Aug. 28, they will together visit Changdeokgung Palace, its famous garden, the Korea Furniture Museum and the audio gallery ODE Maison.

On the following day, CCF Night will be held at the Grand Hyatt Seoul with some 250 people in attendance, including former Prime Minister Han Seung-Soo, 47 foreign diplomats in Korea, and the director of the Opening and Closing ceremonies at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, Song Seung-hwan. There, the artists will talk about the impression they got of the city, and the “Korea Through the Lens” prizes will be awarded, including the grand prize to winner Teodorescu Iordan Daniel from the Romanian embassy in Seoul.

The results of a recent survey, title “Korea From the World Outside and the World Outside From Korea,” will also be presented that evening.

The Culture Communication Forum was established in 2010 to celebrate the G20 Seoul Summit. The first Culture 20 (C20) event invited leading artists from the G20 nations and has become an annual event ever since.
