The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in Hong Kong from March 27 to April 27 will hold the Korean Contemporary Artist Exhibition to mark the center's first anniversary.

Aiming to promote the excellence of contemporary Korean art and stimulate art exchange between Korea and Hong Kong, the event will be co-organized by the KCC in Hong Kong and Art Chosun. The works of Korea's leading first-generation modern artists will be featured such as those of Suh Seung-won, who has stuck to abstract pieces for more than 50 years, and Hwang Yong-yop, whose paintings depict his war experiences.

The exhibition will also display the works of second-generation abstract artist Kim Keun-tai.

Among the up-and-coming Korean artists whose works will be featured in this event are Kim Deok-han, a lacquer painter who repeatedly colors and peels using traditional Korean techniques and materials, and Yoon Jong-ju, who uses materials from the West to express a meditative atmosphere and colors of the East.

The exhibition's hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free.
