The King Sejong Institute Foundation, which runs 213 institutes in 73 countries that teach the Korean language, has released a workbook in 12 languages.

The foundation on May 10 said Sejong Korean Conversation Workbook is a supplement for the main textbook Sejong Korean Conversation to deepen speaking and listening skills.

The workbook is for beginner and intermediate levels, and it differs from the textbook by having chapters containing extra vocabulary and pronunciation learning content. Thus it offers abundant opportunities for conversation practice.

While the textbook is only in Korean and English, the workbook is available in Korean, English, Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Mongolian, Portuguese, Turkish, Arabic and Uzbek.

"Linguistic and cultural differences were reflected (in the workbook)," the foundation said. "It is highly significant that the workbook was developed as an educational material onsite after feedback was collected from teachers at 10 King Sejong Institutes abroad who used it in classes there."

The workbook is available free of charge on the foundation's online service Nuri-Sejonghakdang's official website.
