BTS has returned with a new digital single.

"Butter" was released worldwide on May 21 at 1 p.m. Korean Standard Time.

This is the group's second English-language song after last year's "Dynamite."

The group's management agency Big Hit Music said the song is "a dance pop track that easily becomes listeners' favorite earworm with its distinctive baseline and crisp synth sounds."

Other musicians including Rob Grimaldi, Stephen Kirk, Ron Perry, Jenna Andrews, Alex Bilowitz and Sebastian Garcia took part in the songwriting. BTS leader RM also provided input for "Butter" after not doing so for "Dynamite."

The boy band on May 23 in Los Angeles will perform its new song for the first time at this year's Billboard Music Awards.
