Director Bong Joon-ho's "Parasite" has taken the No. 1 spot on the list of the "10 Greatest Best Picture Oscar Winners" based on ratings and reviews by film buffs.

The U.S. movie news site Screen Rant on June 12 released this list using average scores based on user ratings on Letterboxd, a social app for sharing opinions about film.

"Parasite" and Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 classic "The Godfather" each received an average score of 4.6, but Screen Rant gave first place to the Korean black comedy.

"Most of the highest-rated Best Picture winners are the ones that made history. 2019's Parasite is one of them as it was the first and only non-English movie to win Best Picture," the site wrote. "The Bong Joon-ho film is one of the most unique to ever be nominated for such major awards."

"Telling the story of a poor Korean family who infiltrates a rich family by hustling into key roles in their lives, it delivered in terms of acting, directing, and emotion."

"Parasite" received an average score of 4.6 out of 5 on Letterboxd.

Other films on the list included "The Godfather Part II" (4.5), "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (4.4), "Schindler's List" (4.4), "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (4.3), "The Silence of the Lambs" (4.3), "No Country for OId Men" (4.3), "The Apartment" (4.3) and "All About Eve" (4.3).
