Honorary Reporters

The Korea Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2020 is seeking Honorary Reporters for Korea.net to promote Korea to the world.


We seek foreign nationals abroad to produce various Korea-related content to help the world learn more about all things Korean.


1. Qualifications
■ Non-Korean national highly interested in and passionate about Korea
■ Active user of social media like Instagram, Facebook, Weibo and YouTube

■ Able to competently generate content* in one of the following languages: English, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, French, German, Japanese and Vietnamese
*Content can be in any format including written article, photo, video or illustration; YouTube content creator preferred

2. Activities*
■ Write Korea.net articles about a wide range of Korea and Koreana

■ Produce and promote YouTube videos and/or social media content related to Korea

■ Participate in KOCIS-run events or tourism programs with related organizations
*Successful applicants to receive detailed guidelines later

3. Benefits
■ Small honorarium for those who produce superior work
■ Free trip to Korea for exemplar reporters who actively participate in events
■ Business and/or ID cards for those deemed outstanding
■ Free online and offline classes on Korea
■ Opportunities to be YouTube creator through experience in video planning, filming and editing
■ Letter of appointment* (hard copy) and small gifts for attending induction ceremony in Korea.

*Non-participants to receive letter in PDF form


4. Application

■ Fill out (see the attached file) and submit the application form in one email message and send to both chaey0726@korea.kr and chaey0726@gmail.com.

■ Candidates are kindly asked to attach links to their social media and YouTube pages.


5. Schedule

■ Announcement: March 2020 via email notification

■ Launching ceremony*: Late April
