Minister Yun conveyed a message from President Park Geun-hye and her autographed letter to the Indonesian leader. Yun said the bilateral relationship has reached a “golden period” as both countries have maintained the “best partnership” in all sectors.

Yun added that President Park is expecting to closely cooperate with President Yudhoyono and asked the Indonesian leader to visit Korea.

In response, President Yudhoyono called Korea one of Indonesia’s closest partners and cited bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, steel, defense and eco-friendly car development. He also expressed his willingness to conduct close cooperation with Seoul in creative economy.

On the same day, Minister Yun also went to Singapore for talks with Singaporean Foreign Minister Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam.

Both diplomats praised the development of bilateral relations since the establishment of official ties in 1975. To enhance cooperation in government affairs, they also agreed on the need for reciprocal visits by the leaders of the two countries and the launch of a joint cooperative structure involving the private and public sectors.
