Some 538 booths were set up for exhibits to promote business activities while nanotechnology companies and buyers held a series of negotiations. There were also exhibitions of advanced ceramics, laser equipment, 3D printing machines, bionics and micro MEMS - otherwise known as micro electro mechanical system. MEMS refers to the technology that produces micro devices as small as one millionth of a meter and increasing to millimeters.

Kumho Petrochemical showcased carbon nanotube (CNT), which is often used for manufacturing semiconductors, display devices and component transport trays.

"Carbon nanotube is characterized by static electricity prevention and it will not cause damage to semiconductors and display devices," said a Kumho Petrochemical employee. "We will now focus on developing next generation products by taking advantage of its protection against heat."
