Acting President and Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn received letters of credence from five new ambassadors to Korea on Dec. 27.

The new envoys are: Moroccan Ambassador Chafik Rachadi, UAE Ambassador Abdullah Saif Ali Saleem Al-Nuaimi, Romanian Ambassador Mihai Ciompec, Kuwaiti Ambassador Bader Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Awadi, and Australian Ambassador James Choi.

The acting president welcomed the new ambassadors to Korea and asked that they expand their relations with Seoul in the economic, cultural and political sectors.

Ahead of the ceremony with the ambassadors, the acting president chaired the daily meeting on avian influenza (AI) at the Seoul government complex. At the meeting attended by representatives from the private and public sectors, the acting president said it was his goal to contain the spread of AI within the next week. He also sent his sincere apologies to the farming community and to the public at large for the difficulties surrounding the epidemic.
