1. The Government of the Republic of Korea is deeply concerned over the fact that a number of innocent people, including foreigners, were killed in the shooting attack on a night club in Istanbul, Turkey, on January 1, and strongly condemns the terrorist attack.

2. The Government of the Republic of Korea extends its deepest condolences and sympathy to the victims and their bereaved families as well as the people and the government of Turkey.

3. The Government of the Republic of Korea, under its firm and consistent position that terrorism cannot be justified under any circumstances and must be eradicated at any cost, will continue to take part in the efforts of the international community to eliminate terrorism.
