During his visit to the U.S. for a meeting of the Ministers of the Global Coalition to defeat ISIS, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se held a telephone conversation with Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom on March 23 at the request of the U.K. side. The two top diplomats discussed the recent terrorist attack in London.

° Secretary Johnson, expressing regret over the nationals of the Republic of Korea having sustained injuries in the attack, stated that the U.K. will render active assistance to the injured Koreans.

° Minister Yun asked the U.K. government to continue paying attention and providing assistance to the injured Koreans so that they can receive treatment and return home safely.

° In addition, the Minister extended his deepest condolences to the victims in the attack and their families, stressing that the ROK government will take an active part in the counter-terrorism efforts of the international community. Secretary Johnson expressed appreciation to the ROK government for its support. 

During the telephone conversation, the Minister and the Secretary noted the significance of the discussion on the North Korean nuclear issue and other regional issues in the ROK-U.K. foreign ministerial strategic dialogue held in London on Feb. 22, and agreed to continue close bilateral coordination to seek the resolution of the North Korean nuclear issue.
