President Moon Jae-in sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump on Oct. 3 to express his condolences to the victims of the recent Las Vegas shooting in Nevada and to their bereaved families.

In the letter, President Moon said, "On behalf of the Republic of Korea and its citizens, I would like to express my deep condolences to the innocent victims who were sacrificed in the tragic Las Vegas shooting," announced Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson Park Soo-hyun.

President Moon said that, “Such a violent act, that costs the lives of innocent people, is unacceptable under any circumstances, and the perpetrators should be held to account."

The president also said that, “The citizens of the Republic of Korea and myself hope that the victims and their bereaved families, and people in the U.S., our ally and friend, can overcome their sadness and grief as we move forward from this terrible event.”
