The Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered its condolences to the governments and people of Iran and Iraq for the damages and losses from the strong earthquake that hit the region, in a statement delivered by a spokesperson on Nov. 14. (Korea.net DB)

The Korean government has expressed its condolences and consolation to the governments and people of Iraq and Iran over the strong earthquake that left massive damage across the region.

“The Korean government hopes that the earthquake-hit areas will recover quickly and that the affected communities will return to normal as soon as possible,” said the spokesperson.

The 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck the border area between Iran and Iraq on Nov. 12. According to local media, at least 530 have been found dead, and more than 6,000 have been injured from the deadly disaster, as of Nov. 14.
