On Nov. 25, the Korean government strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on the al-Rawda mosque in Egypt, and extended its deep condolences to the victims of the attack.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement that it "extends our deep condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack and to their families, and to the government and people of Egypt, and wishes the injured a speedy recovery."
The ministry said that the Korean government would continue to join the international community’s efforts to eradicate terrorism, in line with its firm and consistent position that terrorism cannot be justified for any reason.
On Nov. 25, major media outlets, including CNN, AP and Reuters, reported that more than 300 people had been killed in the terrorist attack that occurred on Nov. 24 at the al-Rawda mosque in Bir al-Abed Province in northern Sinai, Egypt.
