Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel is officially visiting Korea on July 1, the first-ever official visit since the 1962 establishment of diplomatic ties between Luxembourg and Seoul.
According to the Office for Government Policy Coordination, Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon will hold a meeting with the visiting Luxembourg leader on July 2 to talk about bilateral cooperation on business, international issues and human-to-human exchanges.
The two prime ministers will have a subsequent joint press conference to share the outcome of their talks, and then have an official banquet at the prime minister’s official residence.
Prime Minister Bettel’s three-day itinerary also includes a visit to the Seoul National Cemetery and to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), as well as a meeting with Korean entrepreneurs.
“Luxembourg is Korea’s best cooperative partner for a better Korea-EU relationship and for bilateral cooperation across higher value-added industries,” said an official from the Office for Government Policy Coordination. “We hope that Bettel’s official visit will be a fruitful chance to reaffirm Korea-Luxembourg friendship and cooperation, as well as to find ways to further develop our ties.”
