Korea, China and Japan on Nov. 5 adopted a joint statement on trilateral cooperation in the development of the non-contact content sector after the COVID-19 pandemic ends.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism held through videoconferencing the 13th Trilateral Cultural Content Industry Forum.
The three nations discussed the pandemic's impact on each country's content industry and the latter's role since COVID-19's outbreak. They also shared methods of cooperation in joint content development in a non-contact era.
The joint statement said the three countries will share the means to promote and use content for its joint distribution after the pandemic ends and push support for the international connections of the three countries' content sectors.
Kim Hyunhwan, director general of the Korean ministry's Content Policy Bureau, said, "Due to the changes incurred by the non-contact economy, the need for cooperation in the content industry by the three countries has grown."
"We hope that this conference improves one step further trilateral cooperation in cultural content even after COVID-19 ends and serves as a new beginning on the road to joint prosperity."
The forum has the governments and private sectors of Korea, China and Japan discuss policies toward and share information on the content sector and support corporate exchanges. Japan hosted and chaired this year's edition.
