President Moon Jae-in and first lady Kim Jung-sook on June 11 arrived in Cornwall, the U.K., ahead of the summit of the Group of Seven (G7) economies.

They were welcomed at the airport by Special Representative of the Foreign Secretary Michael Holloway, Deputy Lieutenant of Cornwall Jane Hartley and Cornwall Councillor Martyn Alvey.

The presidential couple inspected an honor guard before leaving the airport.

From June 12-13, the president will attend the G7 summit in Cornwall, a county on England's rugged southwestern tip.

As this year's G7 chair country, the U.K. invited Korea, Australia, India and South Africa as guests to the summit.

President Moon will attend three extended sessions on health, open society and economy, and climate change and the environment.

On the sidelines of the summit, he will hold bilateral summits with his British, Australian and European Union counterparts.

Following the event, the president will fly to Austria for a state visit from June 13-15 and for another in Spain from June 15-17.
