Nanta Theater Opens in Myeong-dongNanta, one of the most popular non-verbal performances in Korea, celebrated its 12th anniversary with the opening of another exclusive theater in Myeong-dong on October 10th. Although it is the fourth location, the Myeong-dong location is the largest in size. The other Nanta-exclusive theaters are located in Ganbuk, Gangnam and Jejudo-Island.

Integrating traditional Korean Samulnori rhythms into a drama featuring funny unpredictable scenes, peals of laughter are often heard from audience members of all ages. The name 'Nanta' means random pounding using various kinds of instruments. The performance is set in a big kitchen where four chefs are preparing food for a wedding party. During the performance, a diverse range of drums is improvised using common kitchenware like frying pans, dishes and chopping boards. With very few words spoken, audiences of all nationalities can easily understand the show. Already, Nanta is one of the most widely enjoyed performances among international visitors.
