 Date: November 04, 2009

A special exhibition titled "Rivers in Korea; Rivers are life" is planned by the Korean office of the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. Forty photos taken by photojournalists are related to rivers and water in Korea. Its purpose is to help people understand rivers.

1. A couple of otters living in a reservoir in Mount Palgong, Daegu, is fighting over a frog. By Park Young-dae from Dong-A Ilbo.

2. A white heron looking for food is fixed on a carp that has jumped up from a flooded-reservoir. By Kim Tae-hyung from Maeil Shinmun.

3. A group of spectacled teals are flying high from Lake Ganwol, located in the Bay of Cheonsu. By Ahn Sung-sik from JoongAng Ilbo.

4. Standing on parched earth, child monks curiously watch monks performing a shamanist service praying for rain. By Korea Water Resources Corporation.

5. People leaving their shelter after a flood. The upper part of the Nakdong River is quite steep, so when it rains hard, the lower part usually suffers. By Chung Gwang-sam, Busan Ilbo.
