Events at KCCs abroad

In a bid to promote Korean cuisine and culture, the Korean Cultural Centre Australia (KCCAU) joined hands with renowned Australian chef Brendan Pang. Pang, who has Chinese and Mauritian roots, is a celebrated chef in Australia (based in Perth) and gained popularity after participating in MasterChef Australia in 2018.

The collaboration involved providing Pang with a set of Korean meal kits, consisting of kimchijeon, tteokbokki, and kimchi fried rice. Pang chose kimchijeon and put his unique spin on the dish, creating a short video reel of him cooking his version of kimchjeon. His team shared this on his social media channel in December last year and the video recorded more than 51,300 view so far.

In order to further the promotion, KCCAU also held an online event called "2023 New Year's Korean Meal Kit Giveaway', where it provided meal kit sets and recipe cards for Pang's kimchijeon to selected Australian locals interested in Korean food. The lucky winners were encouraged to share their cooking experience on their social media account, tagging @kccaustralia.

The KCCAU aims to continue introducing Korean cuisines to Australians by providing various food programs including some collaborative projects with Australian chefs and other professionals.
