On August 18, 2023, Consul General Euy Whan Kim hosted a dinner event inviting faculty members from Columbia University, including Professor Ah-Hyung (Alissa) Park from the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering, along with experts in energy, batteries, computer engineering, and mechanical engineering.

Professor Park, serving as the Director of the Lenfest Earth Institute at Columbia University, is transitioning to a new role as the Dean of Engineering at UCLA.

Consul General Kim emphasized the desire to expand interactions with Columbia University's energy and industry experts, noting that cooperation between Korea and the United States is deepening beyond robust security and economic ties to include advanced technology collaboration.
