"Korea’s Anti-Corruption" Spreading in Africa… ACRC Signs MoU with Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission
- ACRC disseminates Korea's excellent anti-corruption policies in Africa, including Korea's reporter protection system and Comprehensive Integrity Assessment for public institutions

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC, Chairperson Ryu Chul Whan) signs Anti-Corruption Cooperation MoU with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC*) and strengthens anti-corruption cooperation between the two countries.
* Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission: An institution established under the Zimbabwe Constitution and the Anti-Corruption Commission Act and is responsible for investigation and recommendation for corruption cases in the public and private sectors, reporter protection and international cooperation in anti-corruption

Following Ethiopia, this agreement is the second MoU signed with an African country and is expected to further strengthen cooperation for anti-corruption between the ACRC and African nations.
Zimbabwe, a country located in southern Africa, has nurtured mining and agriculture industries. The Zimbabwean government has established the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS*) in 2020 with the aim of becoming a prosperous upper middle-income country by 2030, setting the enactment of a Whistle-Blower and Witness Protection Act and international anti-corruption cooperation as top priorities.
* National Anti-Corruption Strategy: Zimbabwe's Anti-Corruption Policy Framework, which was introduced for corruption prevention, strengthening of law enforcement, and eradication of public and private sector corruption
According to the MoU, the two institutions will cooperate in various fields such as ▴ sharing reporter protection system, ▴ sharing the Comprehensive Integrity Assessment system for public institutions, and ▴ anti-corruption capability building.
ACRC introduced Korea’s anti-corruption policies and shared anti-corruption training experience to the delegations of ZACC after signing the MoU, as part of its cooperation.
ACRC chairperson Ryu Chul Whan said, "We will do our best to ensure that the foundation for anti-corruption cooperation between Korea and Zimbabwe, which was established through the MoU, contributes to the combat against corruption for the two countries in practical way."
"We expect this MoU to be an important opportunity for the two commissions to strengthen cooperation and to further enhance relationship between the two countries," said Michael Reza, chairperson of ZACC.
