I'm so sad to hear that Japan is again trying to distort history, something that is never justified. I believe that history should be honestly conveyed as a lesson to future generations to make a better world and as a courtesy to the victims of war. Distorting historical facts is an inhumane act, something that I hope is resolved soon and never repeated.
The first illustration show Choi Jang-seop, who was forced to work by Japan during World War II, standing next to a former sex slave (comfort woman) for the Japanese imperial army. The message is that we must fight injustice and stand up for victims of the war for the sake of humanity.
The second illustration shows a quote from Kim Hyun Sook, director-general of the Northeast Asian History Foundation: "A historical truth doesn't disappear just because you ignore it, the debt is just transferred to future generations." This extremely touching sentence encourages every country to reflect true history for future generations and a better world.
