The most-read story written by an Honorary Reporter in the third week of October was an Arabic content named one of the best for the September mission "Making an autumn anthology." Fifteen Honorary Reporters from Egypt contributed to this piece through essays and photos.

Second was a French-language interview with a French judge at this year's Busan International Film Festival. Another article on this event in English was ninth, showing international interest in the festival. And Nos. 3 and 4 were also English-language articles, followed an Arabic one at No. 5 story.

■ [Selected articles from September mission] Style of Korea (15 Honorary Reporters including Alaa Atef Ebada from Egypt in Arabic)

The anthology by 15 Honorary Reporters from Egypt included a variety of content on their experiences in Korea. It featured their thoughts on Korean literature and dramas, learning Korean and experiencing Korean culture. 

"Making autumn anthology" was the first project for Honorary Reporters to work in teams. The mission was hailed as an opportunity for the reporters to communicate with one another despite COVID-19.

■ Interview with French judge at Busan Int'l Film Festival (Danielle Tartaruga from France in French)

No. 2 was a written interview on Oct. 15 with Bastian Meiresonne, a judge at this year's Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). The director of the France-based festival Terres d'Ici - Terres d'Ailleurs, he drew attention for wearing a gat (traditional Korean men's hat) at this year's Busan event.

"It is impressive that BIFF, unlike other film festivals, allows movie stars to communicate closely without distancing themselves from the audience," he said. His most memorable moment was at the opening ceremony with veteran Korean directors Im Sang-soo, Bong Joon-ho and Im Kwon-taek.

■ 'Squid Game' ignites wave of fan art, creations worldwide (Oshini Jayamuni From Sri Lanka in English)

No. 3 was about the variety of fan art inspired by the Netflix hit series "Squid Game" and written by Oshini Jayamuni from Sri Lanka. The article covered fan art created in a variety of genres including paintings, nail art, make-up and rugs. The writer said, "'Squid Game' has spurred a slew of fans worldwide to create amazing art and creations for display on social media."

■ 5 ghost stories from Korea (Dana Nicole Alvarez Burgos from Mexico in English)

Ahead of Halloween, an English-language article on Korean ghost stories was fourth. Dana Nicole Alvarez Burgos from Mexico introduced leading Korean ghosts including mulgwishin (water ghost), cheonyeo gwishin (virgin ghost) and dalgyal gwishin (egg ghost). "Korean ghost stories are more unique as each has its own historical and regional background," adding, "Korea has more interesting ghost stories beyond the ones introduced in the article."

■ Beauty of traditional Korean fan (Somaya Tarek from Egypt in Arabic)

An Arabic piece on characteristics of traditional Korean fans and their role in performing arts was fifth. The article covered the types of fans including round and folding and how to make them.

"Buchae is used not only in traditional art performances but in modern art performance," the writer said, "Despite advances in technology, buchae brings out nostalgia and love for tradition."
