Under the theme "Let Us Shine," the Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics on Jan. 19 held its opening ceremony at the Gangneung Oval in Gangneung, Gangwon-do Province. The competition features over 1,800 youth athletes from 79 countries including Albania, whose lone representative was unable to attend the ceremony. Competing in 15 events in seven sports, these budding stars will show their limitless potential and forge friendships in vying for 81 gold medals.
