This is a tale of mistaken nationality (though it is meant to be more satirical than anything). Furthermore this is based on true experiences. I’m Korean by birth and ethnicity however I’ve grown up in Australia. I want to point out that, despite being mistaken for a foreigner in Korea it was surprising when the nice lady spoke to me in Chinese. Of course she apologized afterwards but it was this act she did in order to accomodate me that meant a lot. Though I’m not Chinese it did show how welcoming and friendly Korean people are. On other occasions they’ve also been more than willing to help with directions and help through the subway. Mishaps happen and people make mistakes and it’s the Korean people’s hospitality and willingness to help that warms my heart above all else.
This webtoon is about how i fell in love with Korea. Of course i changed some parts so it would be funnier etc.. :) It all started with Kpop. I once browsed the internet and discovered a dance cover of Super Juniors song Bonamana and that got me into Korean music and pop culture. Some time passed and i got more and more into it, watched videos about Korea in general and even started to learn Korean because i really like the sound of the language. I also enjoy watching Kdrama. They taught me how the daily life of a simple Korean citizen could look like and how society in Korea works. From beauty standards, hierarchy at work, different formalities towards others to eating habits Korea strongly differs from German culture which I find fascinating. Having different attitudes is what makes the world such a beautiful and diverse place and discovering every fascet of it is very exciting. That's why i would love to go to Korea, experience all that at least once and make my little dream come t
How I see korea? Hmm..I have a lot to say! Korea is rich of culture ! but first , I want to dive in into the daily life of koreans. In my webtoon I want to show those daily life style through a korean family .I see that every koreans has different things they have to show. Age , role , places will give you different experiences! But regardless those different aspects, its still "KOREA" .
For this webtoon, I wanted to show you how I view koreans. Of what I think they're made of, what "ingredient" they have and need. . . This story is about a girl's dream one night. Its about her friend, in her dream, she view her friend so dearly, you can see how she only put nice and wonderful things to represent her friend who is a Korean. This is how she basicly see Koreans as, based on what she experience, her own friend.. . Me too, view Koreans as someone kind, friendly, polite. They have resorces and they can use that resorces to the best optimal result they can. And have you seen their SAT Test?? I watch it in youtube and many people from across the border tried and failed. I can see that koreans are both intellegent, and hard working. Their fashion can tell that Koreans are creative too! They took care of their skin so well too. But most important is that however big they are right now, koreans never forgot their culture!
