Kandinsky, Malevich and Russian Avant-Garde: Revolutionary Art

The works of 49 Russian artists from Dec. 31 to April 17 will be displayed at the exhibition "Kandinsky, Malevich and Russian Avant-Garde: Revolutionary Art" hosted by Sejong Museum of Art at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul.

Featured are 75 groundbreaking pieces inspired by the Russian Revolution including those by abstract art pioneer Wassily Kandinsky and suprematism inventor Kazimir Malevich. The Russian avant-garde movement was highly influential on modern art, architecture and design as well as Korea's abstract art and dansaekhwa (monochrome painting).

The exhibition features collaboration with four Russian art museums including the Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts. Audio commentary voiced by actor Lee Je-hoon is also available.

The hours are 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and the exhibition is open on weekends and all holidays.
