The National Folk Museum of Korea is holding an exhibition of deities from old Korean folktales featuring the use of cutting-edge technology. The event will include a jangseung (village guardian post) and sotdae (sacred pole) that were believed to protect villages from smallpox as well as images of gods who brought bring peace and rain.
The exhibition uses cutting-edge technology like augmented reality (AR) and wide and infinity projection mapping for its displays.
An exclusive exhibition app allows people to honor their favorites deities. An interactive program has visitors collecting all of the character cards (AR codes) interspersed throughout the exhibition through the app. Those who accomplish this goal earn a souvenir prize.
