The National Folk Museum of Korea is hosting the exhibition "Korean Diaspora" to mark the 30th anniversary of Korea's ties each with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The exhibition displays 60 of 352 photographs depicting Goryeoin, or ethnic Koreans in Central Asia, donated by Goryeoin photographer Victor An.
His snapshots trace the daily lives of Goryeoin, who scattered across Central Asia during major historical upheavals of the 20th century while struggling to settle and survive.
The 60 photos show how such people formed an overlapping identity through the cultures of their host countries, longstanding traditions maintained by the community and the influence of their distant motherland.
