An exhibition of masterpieces of domestic modern and contemporary art, "The Master's Eyes," is being held from Sept. 1 to Nov. 8. at Exhibition Hall 1 and 2 of Hampyeong Museum of Art in Hampyeong-gun County, Jeollanam-do Province. Works displayed include those by 63 Korean artists including Chun Kyung-ja, Park Soo-keun and Kim Whanki. Major pieces show the evolution of Korean art, from its early origins in traditional calligraphy and painting to the adoption of Western art, innovations in abstract and contemporary art, and pursuit of an independent artistic identity.
