The Gallery Baton is hosting a solo exhibition of Belgian artist Dirk Braeckman, his first show in Asia. It reflects contemporary trends in photography, utilizing the qualities unique to the medium, while at the same time revealing Braeckman's special darkroom practices. Most of his works are dark, tenuous and suggestive. His images capture his everyday life and were developed through darkroom experiments with light, brushes, sponges and dust. Through the medium of photography, he addresses the real world and negates the weight of time and space with his atmospheric gray tone.
