In 2011, the Cultural Properties Committee, part of the Cultural Heritage Administration, collectively designated historical sites in the cities of Iksan, Gongju and Buyeo as official Baekje Historic Areas and placed them on a Tentative List of UNESCOs World Heritage Sites. The Baekje Historic Areas were then inscribed onto the list of World Heritage Sites during the 39th session of the World Heritage Committee, held in Bonn, Germany, in July 2015. This exhibition is being held to celebrate this success and to commemorate the successful efforts made to achieve official UNESCO recognition and enlistment.
