The Andong Maskdance Festival, one of the country's leading cultural events, runs from Sept. 26 to Oct. 5 in Andong, Gyeonsangbuk-do Province. The festivities start on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. with a street parade at the city center. This year's guest country of honor is Italy, which will present an opera gala concert. In Andong Hahoe Village, the Hahoe byeolsingut talnori, a traditional mask dance drama designated by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, will be performed daily. And the traditional fireworks festival Seonyu Julbul Nori will be held on Sept. 27 and Oct. 4 at the pine forest Mansongjeong and Buyongdae Cliff.
